2.17.10 - Schebler Specialty Fab Helps University of Iowa Make Waves
Schebler Specialty Fab has just handed in an important college assignment: 1,250 feet of aluminum tubing, precision-cut, formed and welded into a complex, moving truss bridge.
The structure is destined for the new $4-million Wave Basin Laboratory funded by the U.S. Navy and built at the University of Iowa’s Institute of Hydraulic Research. UI engineering staff will be able to simulate stormy sea conditions – from pitch and roll to slamming and ship-to-ship interaction – and measure the effects on radio-controlled, scale model vessels. The truss bridge will span the 70’ pool as part of an automated crane carrying cameras and computers.

8.27.09 - Critical Response Center Release
Schebler Specialty Fab has opened the Critical Response Center, a special factory-within-a-factory, dedicated solely to urgent, time-critical projects. The center, which comprises a separate shop, staff and equipment, is your resource for line interruptions, customer emergencies, one-offs and prototypes. Deliveries are made in 48 hours or less, even same-day turnaround in certain cases.
Capabilities include 2D and 3D laser cutting, TIG and MIG welding, forming, rolling and painting. The center stocks a large inventory of materials to meet the requirements of a wide variety of projects.

 8.27.09 - Schebler Spec Fab Brochure
A new brochure from Schebler Specialty Fabrication details the company’s capabilities in quality fabrication using welding, cutting, and forming that require a high level of complexity. Capabilities include manual GMAW and GTAW welding, TIG and MIG welding, 2D and 3D laser cutting, and complex forming with precise dimensional accuracy. The division also is ASME-certified in accordance with the requirements of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
6.3.08 - Schebler Earns ASME Certification
Schebler Specialty Fab has earned the ASME “U Stamp” certification for producing fabrications in accordance with the requirements of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Containers and other related components are designed, fabricated, inspected and tested to Section VIII, Div. 1 of the ASME Code.
“Schebler is now one of the few manufacturers in the Midwestern United States to have the ASME certification,” says Jim Anderson, CEO.
